OfferLens Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what OfferLens collects, how it uses the information, and how user-provided property data may be stored to provide and improve the service. This includes property inputs, offer practice entries, feedback, and activity signals.
1. Information We Collect
OfferLens may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information, including email address, password hash, session records, verification status, password reset status, and saved ZIP filters.
- Legal acceptance records, including accepted Terms and Privacy Policy versions, acceptance time, signup source, IP address, and browser user agent.
- Property and report inputs, including addresses, city, state, ZIP code, property type, listed price, square footage, lot size, property condition, inspection observations, renovation needs, preferences, factor tuning choices, and report request metadata.
- Generated report data, including fair value bands, factor notes, market charts, graph payloads, model outputs, cached report results, and recommendation snapshots.
- Offer practice information, including practice offer amounts, reasons, confidence, property context, sale outcome price, sale outcome date, and related feedback.
- Contact Us feedback, including message text, page context, report context, and submission time.
- Activity and security information, including page views, feature events, API usage, error logs, rate-limit events, IP-derived request metadata, device or browser metadata, and timestamps.
- Market data and source metadata from public, third-party, government, commercial, or locally cached sources used to support reports and market analysis.
2. User-Provided Data
A core part of OfferLens is letting users enter property facts and observations that are difficult to obtain reliably from free public sources. By submitting this information, you direct OfferLens to store and process it so the service can generate reports, remember property context, prefill future workflows, support offer practice, improve pricing logic, troubleshoot issues, and improve the product.
You should only enter data that you have the right to provide. Avoid submitting confidential, sensitive, restricted, broker-only, MLS-restricted, or third-party data unless you have the right to provide it for use in OfferLens.
3. How We Use Information
OfferLens may use collected information to:
- Create and maintain user accounts, authentication, email verification, password reset, and session security.
- Generate property reports, factor notes, pricing bands, market charts, offer practice feedback, and market analysis rankings.
- Persist property inputs so future reports and offer practice workflows can be easier to complete.
- Improve pricing logic, data coverage, user experience, product quality, and feature design.
- Debug errors, measure performance, monitor abuse, enforce rate limits, protect the service, and maintain audit records.
- Respond to feedback, support requests, security issues, legal obligations, or policy violations.
- Create aggregated or de-identified analytics that help evaluate product usage and market signal quality.
Free calculators can be used without an account. If you choose to save a calculation to your account, we store its inputs and calculation breakdown privately with your account so you can reopen it after signing in on another device. Each free calculator keeps one saved calculation per account; saving again replaces that calculator's previous saved calculation. You can remove a saved calculation. Deleting your account also removes these saved calculations from the live service; backup copies follow the retention practices below. Saving does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
After you ask to save a free calculation while signed out, your browser temporarily keeps a copy in the current tab's session storage that can be restored for one hour to help you finish signing in. An expired copy is removed when next read; it may remain in an idle tab until that happens or the browser ends the tab's session. This temporary copy is cleared after sign-in and is not a saved account calculation. It does not transfer to another tab or device; return to the original calculator tab and choose to save after signing in.
To select a nearby housing market on a first visit, your browser may request an approximate city and state from IPWhois, which receives your IP address. This request does not include account or property inputs, and does not use precise device location. A separate cookie remembers markets you explicitly select for up to one year. Choose Show national indicators to remember a national view instead of selecting a nearby market automatically.
To measure public page visits and successful calculator use, we also collect coarse page or tool labels, a broad acquisition source (such as search or social), and an approximate US visitor city and state from the same IPWhois lookup. Other locations are recorded as unknown. IPWhois receives your IP address to perform the lookup; these analytics events do not include raw IP addresses, precise device location, account identifiers, full URLs, referrer URLs, property inputs, or browser identifiers. We use aggregate counts to understand demand and improve the service. We also count city and state selections you explicitly submit to research a housing market, separately from your approximate visitor location. These events are stored without account attribution and retained under the retention practices below. We skip this optional analytics collection when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. This does not disable location lookup used to provide nearby market context.
4. AI and Automated Analysis
OfferLens may use deterministic rules and AI model providers to generate explanatory text, summaries, or analysis. The service is designed to reduce unnecessary model calls where deterministic notes are sufficient. When model calls are used, selected report context or user-provided inputs may be sent to the configured model provider to produce the requested output. Do not enter highly sensitive information that is not necessary for the report.
5. How We Share Information
OfferLens does not sell personal information. OfferLens may share information:
- With service providers needed to operate the product, such as hosting, database, email, logging, security, analytics, or AI model providers.
- When required by law, legal process, regulation, government request, or to protect rights, safety, security, and service integrity.
- As part of aggregated or de-identified analytics that do not identify a specific user.
- With your direction or consent, including when you submit information for a report or contact workflow.
6. Retention
OfferLens keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain report history, support offer practice, improve the product, satisfy legal or audit needs, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and operate backups. Some logs and temporary files may be rotated or deleted sooner. Account, report, property, legal acceptance, and offer practice records may remain until deletion is requested or retention is no longer needed.
7. Security
OfferLens uses reasonable safeguards such as password hashing, session cookies, CSRF protection, authentication checks, authorization checks, rate limits, input validation, and rolling logs. No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure, and the service cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Requests
You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your information by using the in-product Contact Us feature after signing in. If you cannot sign in, email [email protected], preferably from the email address registered to the account. Do not send a password, reset token, or government identification by email. Some information may need to be retained for security, legal, backup, audit, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.
9. California and Other Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and whether applicable legal thresholds are met, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of personal information. OfferLens does not sell personal information and does not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you submit a privacy request, the service may need to verify your identity before acting on the request.
10. Children's Privacy
OfferLens is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
OfferLens may update this Privacy Policy over time. If a material update requires renewed consent, the service may ask you to accept the updated policy before continuing to use account features.
12. Contact
For privacy questions, correction requests, deletion requests, or exports, use the in-product Contact Us feature after signing in or email [email protected] if account access is unavailable. General product feedback should continue to use Contact Us after signing in.
